Cedar Hill Library
Cedar Hill, TX
Cedar Hill Library is a cultural epicenter for the community, housing a public library and museum, among other services. The building is located in North Texas near Cedar Hill State Park and Bentle Branch Creek. Given the proximity of the park, it was essential to incorporate bird friendly glass for this project. The PGAL design team and the client collaborated to harmoniously integrate the architecture of the complex with the natural topography of the site, creating a “library in a park”. The 40,000 sq. ft. building features a variety of spaces configured for indoor/outdoor use, weather permitting, as well as a green roof. The windows were fabricated by TriStar and feature first surface pattern 211 AviProtek® E with Solarban 70 on surface two from Vitro Architectural Glass.
