Walker Glass is delighted to announce that Walker Textures® full surface acid-etched glass with a Solarban® low-e coating from Vitro Architectural Glass has won not one, but two industry awards. These awards are granted to outstanding building products, as judged by industry professionals and experts in the field. We are pleased to see this glazing option’s qualities recognized, in particular the product’s wide range of design possibilities and its impressive energy performance.
US Glass Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards turned to the magazine’s readers to discover what products mattered the most to them in 2021, while Architectural Products Magazine’s PIA Awards recognizes innovative products which go above and beyond industry standards. We are honoured and grateful to be selected for these awards. Our thanks to the judges and the readers who voted, and to US Glass and Architectural Products Magazine for organizing the competitions.
Walker Textures® acid-etched glass with a low-e coating is available in Opaque and Satin finishes on surface one. Choose an Opaque finish to ensure privacy, or select a Satin treatment for a subtle gloss and slight transparency. Either way, the finish will effectively deter birds while optimizing daylight. These acid-etched options can be paired with a Solarban® low-e coating of your choice from Vitro on surface two. Together, these treatments offer a powerful glazing solution.
This impressive product combination is already hard at work. At Swarthmore College’s Maxine Singer Hall in Pennsylvania, Walker Textures® glass with Solarban® 60 on surface two softens the flow of daylight into the building’s atrium and helps the project meet Swarthmore’s rigorous Environmental Sustainability Framework, equivalent to LEED® Platinum criteria. More recent uses include the expansion of the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK and upcoming renovations to the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD.
