Walker Glass, in collaboration with Gardner Glass Products, is expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint with a state-of-the-art acid-etched glass facility in Huntsville, Texas. Construction is well underway, with production scheduled to begin in early 2027. The plant will manufacture Walker Textures® full-surface acid-etched glass and AviProtek® bird-friendly glass, strengthening the company’s presence in key markets.

Designed for scale and efficiency, the Huntsville facility will have the capacity to produce jumbo sheets of 130″ x 204″ and 130″ x 240″, in addition to standard sizes of 96″ x 130″ and 100″ x 144″. These jumbo capabilities address the growing demand for large-format architectural glass. The Texas location will supply Walker’s fabricator network throughout the southern and central states, from coast to coast.

“This facility is a major milestone,” says Randy Brooks, President and CEO. “Expanding our production capacity with the proximity to key U.S. markets gives us a powerful engine for growth. It will allow us to offer customers greater flexibility in sizing, along with a reliable and convenient supply of mirror, full-surface etched glass, and bird-friendly glass, all manufactured in Huntsville, Texas.”

Charles Alexander, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, adds: “This expansion significantly increases our market reach while maintaining the premium quality that we are known for. It opens the door to exciting opportunities across the central and southern states, particularly for fabricators seeking oversized stock sheets. Our jumbo capabilities will make AviProtek® bird-friendly glass an ideal solution for large-scale glazing applications while supporting cutting optimization for fabrication efficiency.”

This marks an exciting new chapter for Walker and Gardner’s ongoing growth and commitment to the North American architectural glass market. Further updates will be shared as construction progresses on the Huntsville facility.
