Immediate Supervisor: Director of Warehouse and Transportation
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of receiving, storage, loading/unloading, and internal logistics operations. He/she supervises work teams, ensures compliance with procedures and health and safety rules, and guarantees operational efficiency through proactive management of performance indicators.
With a key role in continuous improvement, the Supervisor contributes to process optimization, administrative follow-up, and interdepartmental collaboration.
Responsibilities
Operational and Logistics Management
- Supervise a 207,000 sq. ft. warehouse, including shipping/receiving (4–6 docks, 5–6 production lines).
- Plan and optimize workforce allocation.
- Manage receiving, storage, and transportation activities (internal and external fleet).
- Ensure safe and efficient use of equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, racking).
- Monitor productivity, lead times, and error rates, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure stock rotation (FIFO) and inventory compliance.
Team Management
- Supervise 2–3 coordinators and 12–16 unionized employees (2–3 shifts).
- Motivate teams through leadership focused on performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, training, attendance, and scheduling.
- Validate timesheets and oversee payroll via ADP.
- Conduct regular follow-ups (meetings, performance reviews, coaching).
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OHS regulations, WHMIS, and load securement standards (RNA, Standard 10).
- Participate in the OHS/QWL committee, investigate incidents, and implement corrective measures.
- Identify and correct risks on the shop floor.
- Participate in the Emergency Measures Plan (EMP).
Continuous Improvement and Quality
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, propose action plans.
- Maintain ISO standards and update procedures.
- Work with the Quality Department to handle complaints and optimize processes.
- Lead continuous improvement projects (5S, productivity, cost reduction).
Collaboration and Interdepartmental Support
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, HR, and OHS.
- Participate in the integration of new equipment and cross-functional projects.
- Be available outside of regular hours (evenings, weekends) if required.
- Provide coverage for other supervisors/coordinators during absences.
Desired Profile
Experience and Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse/logistics supervision in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in restructuring and change management.
- Expertise in warehousing, load securement (RNA, Standard 10), and hazardous materials.
- In-depth knowledge of WHMIS (mandatory).
- Knowledge of Sage X3 (an asset).

Conditions
- Regular schedule: 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (flexible based on operational needs).
